The Sinch Forum is back! It looks a lot different but all posts and users were imported from the old forum so everything should be right where we left it.

We're extremely grateful 80 people have donated so far. But yeah, there's a lot more than 80 Sinch fans out there. The best thing anyone can do to help (besides donating obviously) is to let other people know what we're doing. People can't donate if they don't know about it :)

Don't end this on May 5th. Unless this is all a giant ruse to just have the greatest, most decadent and extravagant Cinco De Mayo party of drugs and debauchery, I want to donate some more but need to take care of some loose ends first.

It's definitely not ending May 5. I just randomly picked that date when I started it. There will be a blog post up today or tomorrow about everything.

i am glad you are not ending it may 5th as well. i haven't donated yet, partly because i am an asshole, and also because i keep forgetting. but now you've given me plenty more time to continue being an asshole. thanks.

Same for me. I hope I'll find a new job for many reasons, and this is one of them.

Let's put it this way. For as long as people are willing to give us money, we'll have a way to let them do it. Seems kinda silly not to.

I donated, start recording now! :D I think I'm too anxious, I probably shouldn't expect anything for another year or two.. but I want more Sinch, dangit!

I just read your twitter post... do you guys seriously not make anything for sales of your self-titled? That doesn't sound fair... it's a shame too, because it's awesome.

Also.. checked out the bass recording video... I'm liking what I'm hearing so far! Can't wait..

The only money we've ever made from that record was from publishing royalties, which really has nothing to do with album sales. We get paid a little bit every time a song is played on the radio or used on TV. It's actually not every time for radio but if you get played a lot you definitely make some money. The radio publishing obviously didn't last very long. And we got a little bit back when we were on 1 episode of Road Rules.

I guess it's possible that one day we'll sell enough of the self-titled album to recoup expenses and maybe start making some money. I seriously doubt it though. Bands that sell a shitload more than we do still aren't making money from album sales, unless they're on a cool indie label or are running their own label or something.

Radiohead probably made more from In Rainbows than they did on all their other albums combined. That really seems like the only way to go these days (releasing your own music), which is why we're doing something similar.

I figured it would be something along those lines... As I've become more educated about the music industry, I've learned to really enjoy buying music directly from the artists (because I know who the money is going to), so I'm glad you're doing it this way.
