The Sinch Forum is back! It looks a lot different but all posts and users were imported from the old forum so everything should be right where we left it.
The Jester says hi (especially to you Satan McBacon)
  • Yeah, so I've been into Sinch for about 5 years now. First song I heard was "Something More", dug it, so I checked out some other stuff, and the I eventually decided I had to add their albums to my CD collection (though I'm still trying to find a proper CD copy of "Diatribe" as opposed to just a download, and "Project: Buebird EP").

Anyway, I'm 27, more of a metal head actually, but I really dig Sinch's sound.

Satan McBacon, you and I knew each other in another board lifetime. I'll give you a hint: I'm a fellow southern brother from across the Tasman

Here's another hint: GO CAROLINA PANTHERS!!!!! That oughtta be enough hints for you.

Aaaaanywaaaaays, yeah, any questions from anyone else I'd gladly answer. As long as it's reasonable :P

Elabourate on the term "metal head"....
  • Well, my favourite 3 bands of all time are Machine Head (first and foremost.....since '96), Biohazard & Megadeth.

    Other bands I'm into include:

    Lamb Of God
    The Black Dahlia Murder
    The Haunted
    American Head Charge
    Chimaira
    Raunchy
    Pantera
    Sacred Reich
    Killswitch Engage
    Shadows Fall
    God Forbid
    Sepultura
    Fear Factory
    Soilwork
    Slayer
    Trivium
    Vision Of Disorder
    Korn
    OTEP

I don't really need to mention Metallica, because if you like metal, liking Metallica is a given. But I also dig Black Sabbath.

But then there's a list of not so heavy bands I listen to as well:

    (hed) PE
Kottonmouth Kings (and quite a few artists from their Suburban Noize Records label)
    Linkin Park
    Fort Minor
Sevendust (I don't really consider them heavy metal....more hard rock)
    Quarashi
    Lostprophets
3rd Strike (I wish they released more than one album though)
    Disturbed (same as Sevendust)

There's quite a few more bands that I could list, but off the top of my head, those are all bands that I own all of their albums, that I can remember now.

Thanks for joining the forums. We definitely need some more people here. If you know any other Sinch fans let them know they should be posting here or they're not real fans.

We ran out of Diatribe CDs a while ago so it's gonna be hard to find. We've been considering a reissue at some point but I think we want to wait until the demand is high enough. I'm not sure when that will be or how we'll even know. All we have to go on is people contacting us about it or using the option on CDBaby to notify them when more CDs are available.

Haha, I see McBacon and you probably get along VERY well... Especially on the Machinehead, LOG, God Forbid and Soilwork influences :P I love all those bands as well btw, which is probably why Satan and I concur alot on music... Speaking of which where's that goatie'd homo gotten to anyway?

P.S. MachineHead RULEZ THE MOTHER FUCKIN' WOOOOOOOOORLD!!! \m/

Truth be told, I don't know anyone else around here that listens to Sinch. Which kinda sucks, because Sinch deserves so much more recognition....in my opinion anyway.

Yeah, by the time I noticed there were copies available on CDBaby, they had already sold out, so I could only get my mits on "The Strichnine". I did however use the option on CDBaby to notify me when more copies are available. And I also did contact the band regarding it a while back. Still no joy :(

I try eBay very regularly, but no success there either.

One thing I do know, however, is that when a band releases a new album *hint hint* 8) that's when you start to see their rarer, hard to find stuff popping up on eBay (seeing as awareness of the band has increased).

Actually, that would be a cool idea: when the next album is released, release re-issues of the old material :D :D :D Do like a sort of box set of all the underground stuff including the 95 demo, and Project Bluebird.....

Oh well, one can only dream :)

    RaZoR:

Yeah, Satan McB and I got along pretty good on the other board. He's pretty cool. I remember when he was posting from New Zealand then he moved to the UK (that was where the "southern brother" thing came from: I'm Australian).

I dunno what he's been up to lately actually. I stopped posting on the other board a few months ago....but even before I stopped, he wasn't really there that often. Maybe once in every couple of months, for a bit.

Don't get me wrong, Sevendust does have some pretty heavy songs.....they've crossed the metal/hard rock line back and forth several times throughout their career. Hell, in one album you'll get metal and hard rock. But I choose to call them hard rock....dunno their official label :?

Hell yeah, MACHINE FUCKING HEAD!!!! I was fortunate enough to see them three times last year (in Melbourne, and both their Sydney shows). And even more fortunate to be able to hang backstage with them on all three occassions. As a die-hard fan of the band for the last 12 years, that was truly the best concert experience I've ever had. I was just amazed how down to earth one of the biggest metal bands of the last 10 years, was. No egos, just super cool, down to earth guys.

I like that idea. I don't have the '95 demo, but I have all of the other ones and I would definately buy them again if they came in a cool package. Maybe Sinch could throw in a DVD with some live videos and that DVD that they never finished.

I've always considered them nu-metal, but they definately cross over into a lot of genres. I can definately hear where you get hard rock when listening to their music though. I don't know what they call their music, but I guess that would be their official label.

And let the Sevendust inspired manloving begin!!!!

I just thought of that because Sacred Reich did a similar thing. Though they're in a different situation: they broke up over 10 years ago.

Basically, their singer (Phil Rind) was talking to his mate about the band, and his mate asked him if he saw how much their old (now deleted) albums were going for on eBay. And when he checked it out, he thought it was ridiculous, so he approached SR's old label (Metal Blade) and suggested re-mastering the old material.

Though what they did was remaster the first album (Ignorance) and the follow up ep (Surf Nicaragua), and included b-sides that they recorded over the years on the remastered Ignorance as bonus tracks. And for Surf Nicaragua, they included the 4 songs that made up their '85 demo tape before they released their first album, plus a few other demo songs they had recorded before they got signed, as bonus tracks. They didn't remaster everything, just the first 2 official releases. I think they want to re-issue the other material, but when is another story.

They also included a DVD with their performance at Dynamo in 1989, plus a little documentary about the band that some fan did back in '93. In it you get to see (Machine Head drummer) Dave McLain back around '93 with long hair. So different to what I'm used to seeing.
  • Whoa, just stumbled into this forum by accident... It's usually overlooked by myself, since there's hardly any action... Lucky i did though or i would've missed catching this thread (or moreso than than i already have).

    What's up, Greazer!?
