The Sinch Forum is back! It looks a lot different but all posts and users were imported from the old forum so everything should be right where we left it.

New to the forums. I've been listening to Sinch since a friend had me listen to parts of the self-titled. After a little time and skimming through the site for misc works, I started falling head over heels for the band. Clearing the Channel was magnificent and locked me in later on. Just recently I heard Strychnine and Diatribe and was further blown away.

While I'm passionate about music I usually keep it to myself but I've been pushing Sinch on co-workers and friends for about a year now, trying to get the word out. Looking for ways to help in an area you guys don't visit.

Welcome to the forums. Join the fun and stay awhile.
  • psuedinpsuedin August 2006
    I think I will, thanks.

Don't be afraid to pull any punches, I felt comfortable signing up for the forum because of what goes on here. Mayhaps Dan should find a way to title the forum Diatribe. ;)
  • tsnuftsnuf August 2006

RC and Satan are just upset that I tend to ignore their advances.

    Where's South Carolia?
  • psuedinpsuedin August 2006
They just like a newbie that comes out swinging, yo.

SC is in the south-eastern corner of the US.
  • Satan+McBaconSatan McBacon August 2006
    I think it's South Carolina, you red-nosed Yobbo! :P
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006
Apparently they only teach geography in New Zealand. I guess when you're learning things like croc wrangling and boomerang throwing there isn't much time to learn about the world.
  • AerockAerock August 2006
RC, name a state in Australia without looking it up, or even the capital city. Who knows geogrpahy now?!
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006
You mean like New South Wales where Mark is from. Whammy!
  • AerockAerock August 2006
And the capital city? Don't know the capital to the 6th biggest country? Whammy! Like, Gene Tenace at the plate aaaaaaand whammy!
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006

    "Aerock":

RC, name a state in Australia without looking it up, OR even the capital city.

But, I think it's Canberry or something like that.

To be honest, I've never really cared much for geography. It's pretty boring.
  • AerockAerock August 2006
I got hooked on geography after that show Animaniacs. I loved that show as a kid. I memorized the 'Nations of the World' and the '50 states and capitals' song. I still have most of it memorized toay.

    I'm not a nerd...

What about NZ, Aerock? Show me what you got :P
  • AerockAerock August 2006
New Zealand is Australia's Puerto Rico. No one cares.
  • Satan+McBaconSatan McBacon August 2006
    Ouch.

...wait. I don't get it? Puerto Rico?

    Ya didn't know anyways

    C'mon just name a state... :D
  • AerockAerock August 2006
Puerto Rico is a colony island belonging to the US, but they're up their own asses in latin pride and don't want to become a state and they're just trying to 'be themselves.'

All I know about New Zealand is they have a city called Auckland and they have fjords.
  • Satan+McBaconSatan McBacon August 2006
    Sounds like us

    Our fjords (or fiords) rock!

Any excuse to post pics :P
  • AerockAerock August 2006
fjords are awesome, pretty much everything I've seen about NZ is. New Zealand actually is one of my top 5 places to tour if I get rich.
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006
Just for fun, I put in North Philadelphia in Google to see what kind of images it brought up and needless to say it's not as breathtaking as New Zealand's images.

EDIT - If you need proof that I grew up in the ghetto, just do a Google image search for North Philadelphia.
  • AerockAerock August 2006
Statistically, the south-east quadrant of cities are the most dangerous.
  • Philadelphia is statistically the exception to like half the rules that exist about cities.

South-East Philly is probably the safest part of the inner city you can be in. It basically consists of the airport, the stadiums, and the navy base.
  • psuedinpsuedin August 2006
    Don't forget these little fuckers:

    image
Oh no, don't hit the retarded thing that looks like fruit! Arent'y these things almost extinct, for the same reason dodo birds are? There's some national pride for you: make your national bird a strange animal that's a complete dumbass.

Of course, my only research comes from talking to a "kiwi" a while ago, so I might be the dumbass here.
  • Satan+McBaconSatan McBacon August 2006
Fuck yeah! Our national bird is badass. It just got fucked over by the rats the pommies brought with them back in 1840-whatever.

...I was just thinking about it and fuck, we're such a BIRD country. All our indigenous crew are birds...

He's right. There's nothing there to be not safe.
  • At least it's a bird and not a maple leaf. Look at canada.

Ben Franklin wanted to make our national bird a turkey.

You think a kiwi is bad?

At least they aren't bald and endangered thanks to DDT.

Be assured that if you do leave him an opening, RC will fill it before you can say "What's this RPS...?". Then you'll need all kinds of jabs. Welcome to the board!

As for shite national icons, what about the Scottish and their thistle? Shittest plant ever, if it's even considered a plant.
  • KiljaedenKiljaeden August 2006
Haha. I didn't know I'd start a Geographical Knowledge war when I was merely criticising someone's spelling.

And the capital of NSW is Sydney. The capital of Australia is Canberra.

Unless you play professional sports on or against the Philadelphia team. Then you're not safe at all.
  • Come to think of it as long as you're wearing a birds jersey you're safe no matter where you go in Philly (unless you go to Kensington...then that jersey is getting gripped so someone else can wear it!). You might even experience courtesy from your fellow human beings if you're in South-east Philly wearing Eagles gear. One of the last things you want to be wearing in Philly is a Cowboys jersey. I don't know if it is just philly but everyone seems to hate Dallas.

NOTE- flyers and phillies jerseys do not have the same effect as eagles jerseys...those will just attract crazy people. i know some pretty crazy hockey fans. insane even.

That's true. You're just asking to get your ass kicked if you are anywhere in Philly with a Cowboys jersey on. That's worse than spitting in the face of someone's mom and kicking their dog onto the highway. It's not too bright to wear a Devils or Rangers jersey where you know there'll be hockey fans, either.

You didn't mention that Sixers jerseys have no effect whatsoever. Somehow they just became like regular clothes.
  • Satan+McBaconSatan McBacon August 2006
    Are you guys serious!?
you'll get the bash if you're wearing the wrong teams clothes...

Actually, I think it's like that over here too, only it's that dumb football game and it's more northern England than London...

One of the funniest things about Seattle fans is their lack of rivals and their desperate attempts to have them.

First, when they were in the AFC West, they were really the odd team out. Everyone knew the rivals was Kansas City, Denver, and the Raiders with the occasional San Diego stopping by. They didn't have rivals then but they always pretended the Raiders were their rival even though in truth, no one cared about the Seahawks.

Now that they're in the NFC West, they like to pretend instantly that these new teams are their rivals, namely the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco because those two teams have had (somewhat0 recent success. The truth is, even though Seattle is the best team of the division, no one really cares about them, and the main rivalry is still 49ers/Rams. Their only possible rival is with the Arizona Cardinals, two teams outcast from their division that they did not fit in with.
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006
The Eagles have more a rivalry with the Cardinals than the Seahawks. They were in our division for years and I can't even count how many times Jake Plummer raped us. If Jake Plummer played his whole career against the Eagles, he'd be a lock for the Hall of Fame.
  • Yeah a sixers jersey just makes you look local.

Jets jerseys are kind of a bad idea too.
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006

    "forgotten citizen":

Jets jerseys are kind of a bad idea too.

Seriously. They think they're all cool with their Jets chant that is not even half as cool as the Eagles chant. Plus the Eagles have a fight song. How many American pro-sports teams have fight songs?
  • AerockAerock August 2006
    Holy shit! You do?
  • Damn right.

"Fly Eagles Fly" - The Eagles fight song

Fly Eagles Fly, On The Road To Victory.
Fight Eagles Fight, Score A Touchdown 1-2-3.

    Hit 'Em Low.
    Hit 'Em High.
And We'll Watch Our Eagles Fly.

Fly Eagles Fly, On The Road To Victory.

    E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!!!
  • RCSoulRCSoul August 2006
Greatest song ever. I should throw it on my next mix CD.
  • AerockAerock August 2006
That's awesome. As if the team needed any more of a college football mentality. I wonder if they're the only one.
