The Sinch Forum is back! It looks a lot different but all posts and users were imported from the old forum so everything should be right where we left it.
Introductions...

I'm currently suffering from a very acute form of "not-getting-to-sleep"-itis... I thought I'd put on some music and browse the internet, and here I am... I've been a huge fan of sinch for what must be years now -from stumbling across "Tabula Rasa" after searching for it because I heard the words in a Philosophy lesson... That must have been 2 years ago now! Ouch... I'm a 2nd year Physics student, at Warwick University, England -but no jokes about cups of tea... Please...
  • RaZoRRaZoR January 2006
Whoa a Physics uni student? I'm a bio-science undergrad... Kudos to you! And a Hearty Welcome to the forums! Funny way of stumbling across the band but hope you make yourself a regular visitor of the forums!

Physics is easy! Bio-Science scared the hell out of me... I mean all Physics really is [is] a load of estimations... Take a look at the uncertainty principle =/ The whole thing is about : well we kind of know one thing, so we can't know another thing all too well... The best way to do Quantum Mechanics is resolve your life into never-observing anything... Ever... It makes everything more certain!

    Hi Unna

Welcome to the boards *waves* Nice to see another Brit :)

As clear as that statement may seem, I'll sleep on it... But in any case to most of my friends who liked to see things in black and white and unidentifiable shades of grey, followed Physics and I guess the fact that they were genuinely good at math helped  I mean I'm no slow poke when it comes to math and fact solving and I was always good at it but I was more interested in reading about how things "naturally" (and I'm using this term loosely) worked than proving the fact time and time again on paper... But from what I hear if your passionate about Physics I hear the whole experience can be quite rewarding... 8) That said are you an atheist?
  • UnnaUnna January 2006
I'm not an atheist no... I believe in something more powerful than myself, be it nature or a god... I don't like organised religion, I don't agree with it -dictating how someone should celebrate their faith resembles a brutish policing rather than "your friendly neighbourhood" church...

I love my Physics, I find it incredibly interesting... And it's not so much a proof as to what happens when, it's more of a why things happen... I don't prove that a ball falls under gravity, I say why it does and describe the mechanisms in nature that govern that motion... I do Physics because I need to know, as I have said in many a drunken ramble :

Physics is not the search for rules, it's the search for God

    Welcome, Unna!

Speaking of Physics and questioning our world(s) has anybody seen 'What The Bleep Do We Know?'

    Welcome Unna!
  • UnnaUnna January 2006
It's a Tony! *prods* I don't know why but I find it really odd that a band posts on its own forums.. That seems like such a stupid thing to say, but hey, I'm a physicist.. I'm allowed..

Of course, my bad. It was more of a slip of the finger... but well put none the less. I know that's the principle behind physics, hell I did it as a subject for my Advanced Levels didn't I? That's why I found it so darn fascinating too ... :P

I'm gonna start quoting you more often. :)
  • UnnaUnna January 2006
haha I wasn't getting at you =| sorry *pats on head*... I like that quote -that's apparently what drunks refer to as a "moment of clarity", when I realised that the governing principles of the Universe could well be the god we have been searching for... By we I don't mean everyone, just making that clear -in case I get replies of "Dude, I'm such an athiest I killed a Christian because his life is as pointless as his God"... Everyone has faith in something...

Hey Unna couldn't help notice 10 Years was on your playlist... Noone else here listens to them :( I was starting to think I was the only one... Aren't they just the best? :D
  • UnnaUnna February 2006
10 Years are amazing! But I got quite addicted to them and Papa Roach recently, which is why Sinch is suffering! Although I went to a union event where a good friend DJ's and I brought in the Sinch album and got everyone jumping to Tabula Rasa (it's the easiest to listen to first I reckon..)
  • I also listen to 10 years.
  • tsnuftsnuf February 2006
i'm not a brit, but i follow the EPL very closely (go Blackburn!). i'm in college too (UCLA), majoring in chemical engineering.

    Cool avatar, go the Iceman!
  • tsnuftsnuf February 2006
i own one, and i love it.
  • Satan+McBaconSatan McBacon February 2006
Cool, I've got a shitty Ibanez GRX20 or something. It's got this neat function where you do a whammy dive and the guitar detunes. It's awesome. :lol
I'll be getting myself a Dean '79 V soon hopefully.

but yeah, i started out on a grx70... its not bad. but i chipped it in a couple places... tried to throw the guitar over my shoulders with a crappy strap :(
