WAYLT: The Beginning
  • ColersColers June 2005
This is the first one for this forum, which is neat.

I'm listenin to Mason Jennings - Birds Flying Away
  • RCSoulRCSoul June 2005
    Radiohead - Kid A

I'm on a Radiohead kick right now.

    Awesome album.

Listening to On Thorns I Lay - Angeldust
  • tommitommi July 2005
Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere, But Not Here
  • MARK%21MARK! July 2005
    porcupine tree are awesome.

    listening to karnivool
  • RCSoulRCSoul July 2005
Yungmid & Huggybear - Po', But Tryin'

    Dredg - Catch Without Arms
This album has grown on me a bit. I really want to like it, but it's just not that good. I'd have never expected Dredg to put forth something so mediocre.

    Radiohead - Kid A & Amnesiac

    A Whisper In The Noise - S/T
  • Graveworm - 'As Angels Reach the Beauty'
  • I coulda sworn it was always abbreviated as WAYLT.

Don't feel bad, RC was having trouble with acronyms the other day as well.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of live stuff.

Benevento Russo Duo - Live at Bonnaroo '05

Radiohead - Live at Red Rocks Amphitheater

Particle - Live at Penn's Peak

Widespread Panic - Live at Bonnaroo '05
  • ColersColers July 2005
Good call sir. I wasn't on top of things.

    RJD2 - Dead Ringer
13&God - The Notwist and Themselves

I wasn't having trouble with acronyms. I was having trouble typing. And proofreading, as well.
  • AerockAerock July 2005
I'm agreeing with Colers on the avatar thing. I don't know who's typing what. Like I have time to read all the usernames.

    Chevelle - Wonder What's Next

What happened to their website? Did Sony fuckin kick them or what?
  • RCSoulRCSoul July 2005

They're redesigning it to emphasize the new member of the band.
  • ColersColers July 2005
    What pussies.

Do you think Geddy Lee would have added another band member? Fuck no he wouldn't have. He would have taken his Canadian fro and found new ways for 3 people to make the most noise in the world.

Chevelle should just have gotten some Vagasil. Or lessons on how to not suck.

    Rush - Moving Pictures
  • RCSoulRCSoul July 2005

    "Colers":

    Rush - Moving Pictures

Now that's a real three man band. Geddy Lee plays his bass and the keyboards at the same time. That's talent holmes. Plus he's one of my favorite front men ever.

  • RCSoulRCSoul July 2005
I'm not hopping on the bandwagon. It takes much less time for me to bold text than to find a pic of the album cover.

    Kary - Light
    Collective Soul - S/T
Recusant Blue - Demos and Unreleased Tracks (A compilation I'm putting together for Mark and FC)

EDIT - If anyone else wants a CD, PM me your address and such. I doubt anyone knows any of these songs, but I'll supply a track listing.

    01. Fleeting
    02. Season Decay (Old/No Drums Mix)
    03. Bipolarization
    04. Movement 1: The Cricket's Bomb Shelter In Case of War
    05. Untitled
    06. Something Different
    07. A Wind Swept Hill
    08. Movement 2: The Pirates of NAG
    09. Candlelight Evenings
    10. The Collective Impressions (Raw)

That's what's currently playing in Winamp over here.
Right now, it's Child In Time. AWESOME song!
  • SkinticketSkinticket July 2005
By the way, the solo in Fireball with the hammon-organ is brilliant!
Listening to Workhorse now. Hyp-no-ti-ziiiing...

Have about 15 or so cd's in my car cd case that I pretty much shuffle through regularly.

Been going through the new Foo Fighter album stage, along with Clearing the Channel a lot and a little of the new Audioslave. (Blech Tom Morello and his cheesy Waah pedal, cookie cutter solos... yay Cornell and bass player, soso on the drumming IMO) Kinda wishing Cornell would just swipe the bass player and go back to solo stuff... or just leave the bass player and go solo again... lol... or even more Soundgarden... either way. Foo album grew on me after a few listens, though I was somewhat unimpressed the first listen... and for some reason can't get Virginia Moon out of my head cause I think Norah Jones has a sexy voice, among other things. Switching in a little Mudvayne's new one which is awesome, and the occasional Headspace from Pulse Ultra.

That's a few of many, but I feel I've rambled enough. Lol.
  • SkinticketSkinticket July 2005
I've heard one song from Pulse Ultra; Build Your Cages. Is the rest as good as this song?
  • dandan July 2005
    Still listening to this:

Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself

Anyone who still hasn't heard this, check it out here:
    http://cherrybloss.org/heap/index.php?autoplay=1

The album is only available in the UK right now, but you can order it directly from her site:
    http://www.imogenheap.co.uk

If this ever comes out in the US I could see it being huge. Or maybe not. But it's definitely catchy enough to be on the radio and in car commercials and stuff.
  • NevermuseNevermuse July 2005
    Skinticket:

I was thoroughly impressed with the entire album from Pulse Ultra. So, to be honest with you, I'd answer yes to that question.

For a sample of the tracks from the album check out CDnow.com

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ce&s=music

That's a direct link to the album. I believe the initial radio song they had was Despot. If not, it was the one that caught me and forced me to buy the album, pretty much. Lol. Hope that helps.

I was listening to Imogen Heap and I gotta admit I really liked them... Wow that second track was so catchy... Whered you hear about these guys Dan???

Actually the singer from Frou Frou's name is Imogen Heap. But yeah, same person.

Imogen Heap is actually the singer from another group called Frou Frou who had a song in the movie Garden State. Somehow I came across a link to that audio player thing and started listening to it and realized who it was... I don't really remember where I found it.

For anyone who's interested, the album is now out in the UK. If you're in the US, you can order it directly from her site:

    Wintersleep - Untitled
Easily one of the best albums released this year regardless of whatever else comes out this year.

    Facing New York - S/T
Streaming the album from their website. Not sure what I think of it. Some of it's diggable. Some of it's pretty average.
  • tommitommi July 2005
Still listening to Pain of Salvation. I have a bad habit of overplaying any albums that I really like.

I've also been listening to the new Opeth and The Flower Kings...
  • tommitommi July 2005
The new Opeth. I'm liking it. After the first listen I'd say it's better than Deliverance...
  • MARK%21MARK! August 2005

The BBC Radio 1 Rock Show

Currently they have Nattefrost on, with some LA Guns and Every Time I Die up in the next few minutes apparently.

Thank you for wasting my time . . .

I've been listening to X-treme Radio. Probably the most worthless radio station in Las Vegas. Shit like Chevelle 20-7 (because Howard Stern is like 4 hours I think).
  • KiljaedenKiljaeden August 2005
    Opeth - Ghost Reveries
It isn't anywhere near as good as MAYH, SL or BP but it's better than Deliverance.

    Meshuggah - Catch 33

    Sigur Ros - Von
Seeing them in 2 days so it should be awesome.
